The most unlikely friends
Barely a month after I made peace after our two-week fall-out over Cristiano Ronaldo and football, I found myself in yet another argument with Brit boy today.
It was 9:45 p.m and I had just finished my two-hour workout at the gym, so tired that I could barely keep my eyes open, but I stumbled back to the office hoping to get some work done while waiting for my dutiful mum to pick me up.
We were chatting. And laughing. And being silly on BFON. Until I mentioned Mr. SF and green-eyed Brit boy launched into this unnecessary attack about his FON picture and other unprintable remarks.
I was absolutely livid.
And he goes on about how he was just giving an opinion and that I didn't have to care what he said as long as I was happy.
My face was ashen, both from not having make-up on after my steam bath and from my disgust at his lack for respect for me and Mr. SF.
While he continued typing his arguments and well-meaning advice on IB, I responded in monosyllabics. He finally stopped his tirade and asked if I was upset.
"Yes," I replied, "because I am sharing this with you as a good friend and you are slapping me in my face."
Granted, there was some truth in his rant, but he was being a prick and I was being sensitive. It's the same kind of anger when someone tells me Backstreet Boys is rubbish or that there is no God.
We sat there in stony silence and he breaks the frost by saying we should go back to the state of CR. I wore no expression on my face and told him I should get used to him not being around since he was leaving soon anyways.
Thank God my mum called and said she would be there in ten minutes.
I logged off without saying goodbye.
I sulked and slept the whole car ride home, his words ringing in my head and I secretly knew he was right.
Back in the comfort of my room, I logged on again, and true enough there was an apology from him sitting in my inbox. I quickly replied him and said that I meant to write him to forget our stupid quarrel too.
We're two crazy people and the most unlikely friends but it's funny how life works.
