I felt strangely light within me as I walked home in the drizzle today.
I was dog-tired from work, having spent 12 hours on my desk at work and my MP3 player had run out of batteries. But I passed by a small group of middle-aged women line-dancing to golden oldies from a portable radio at the void deck, and I found myself singing along and smiling to myself, allowing the gentle fall of rain to refresh me and thankful for life and His blessings that are new every morning.
I stayed back for 2 hours after my shift had ended to help some colleagues with their work, and then had dinner with my Thai colleagues May, Nithi and Joy at a favourite haunt near office. It was surprisingly quiet tonight- we were the only people occupying the second storey of the restaurant.
I was once again reminded of how God has given me the ability to speak words of truth and encouragement, to build up and give new perspectives on what the world teaches us should be.
