Sunday afternoons are the best.
Met Ahred for breakfast at Mac's before church service at WMC and a very inspiring sermon by a missionary back on furlough from Japan. She spoke a simple but stirring message on "Living the Redeemed Life".
"For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men. It teaches us to say "No" to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age, while we wait for the blessed hope—the glorious appearing of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ, who gave himself for us to redeem us from all wickedness and to purify for himself a people that are his very own, eager to do what is good."
- Titus 2:11-14
I'm not quite sure how to describe her, but she had a soothing effect on me, and it felt like I had set down and chatted with her about my life over a cup of coffee on a nice Sunday afternoon.
I had to break the news to Ahred that they had jacked up the price of movies while he was away in Fukuoka, so for lack of a worthy movie and better plan, he came up with the brilliant plan of checking out Vivocity. I reluctantly took a train down with him and wandered around a mostly-empty malls with the rest of an aimless Singaporean population in my mighty high heels.
We finally settled down at Starbucks at Harbourfront and spent our afternoon drinking coffee, chatting and making distant plans to travel Europe and trying to crack a particularly sticky legal case on his Nintendo DS with very little luck.
Yes, Sunday afternoons are the best.
