La Poursuite #3: Kate Coffee 
Before work today, I went to Kate Coffee in Shimokitazawa with Ryan in tow (sans my evil twin Mellie).
The decor was done in simple, clean lines and looked like the interior of someone's living room, classy chic without a girly overkill. It was located on the second floor and overlooks a small street, perfect for people watching. The lighting is perfect for reading or doing work for a long period of time, and the servers were prompt and polite without being intrusive.
We had a leisurely brunch and sat there talking for about two hours. I was worried that it would be weird for him, but thankfully there was a regular stream of male customers who came in with the female patrons(although he was the only gaijin.)
The cabonara pasta I ordered was not spectacular but good enough for the price, with a tiny bowl of salad as appetizer and vanilla ice-cream for dessert. It also came with a small cup of coffee that was mild and aromatic enough to be drank black.
After lunch we wandered around town and went into random shops. It was the perfect way to spend a lazy afternoon.

Now I wish I lived there, and I'll definitely go back soon.
